Hello everyone! Claudia and Company is now officially closed. I can't believe that day is here. I wanted to share a couple of things with you before I officially sign off from this blog as well.

First, a little something I found on the internet; I just had to share it with you because it is so fitting.

Yes, thank you all for the adventure; I could not have done it without you! And yes, I added the "we will" because that is what we are looking forward to: our new family adventure. God is leading the way, so I know it will be great.

Thank you for your wonderful support, prayers, and words of encouragement.

I also wanted to share a new place I created for me; my new personal blog. It is named after my three favorite things! I hope you will join me there. I look forward to sharing future creations and little updates of my family.

And last, but certainly not least...

Store Closing Announcement

I am here today to deliver some very important news.

Claudia and Company is closing its cyber doors.

I struggled with this decision for many months; going back and forth, trying to find a way to make it all work. In the end, after much prayer, I felt a sense of peace. A peace I have felt before with other struggles in life; a peace that meant that God was getting ready to deliver something much bigger; that He was preparing my heart (and schedule) for something bigger. As most of you know, our youngest son, Sammy had an appointment with a neurologist on December 5th; Sammy was diagnosed with autism. We are optimistic because he seems to be afflicted with a fairly mild case, although we are very early in the process. We are confident that speech and occupational therapy should correct the majority of his issues. There will be further testing (to rule out any other possible causes for his speech delay) and further refinement of the diagnosis and treatment. We don't yet know what type of schedule he will have, but it will more than likely be 3-4 days a week. It is time for me to be a full time mom (again) and I couldn't be more excited.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for all the support you have given me throughout the last 2.5 years; from the very beginning of Die Cuts R Us to what my little store is today... Claudia and Company. Emails, blog comments, Facebook page comments, letting me know how happy you were with your order always... always... made my day! A very special thank you to my store admin Margie! Margie helped me run the store when I needed it the most and I am blessed to call her friend.

The store will be closing on December 23rd at 11:59PM. Starting today, you can purchase many items at 50-60% off regular price; some are discounted even more. Here are just a few examples:

Oh yes, Charlie Brown is big at our house this year!

I had to share one of the many things I am most thankful for this year: Our trip to Disney World! As I mentioned before, God blessed us with the wonderful opportunity to take my parents, who had never been there, and it is the BEST trip we've ever had. One, I will not soon forget.

I made this layout using the My Memories software. I can't tell you how much I love this program! So quick and easy. I just had to share my absolute favorite photo from the trip; we have close to 1000 pictures from three cameras combined, and this one was easy to pick out... I promise not to make the next 50 posts of Disney pics. Heehee.

This is when my parents met the characters for the first time. It was so cute to see their reaction; Mickey even kissed my mom's hand.

Because Margie and I will be busy this weekend with family, we will not be having a Black Friday sale, but stay tuned... we will be having a super duper Cyber Monday sale! See you then.

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!

I am a bit late with this post; I apologize for that.

My family and I flew to Florida last Friday and returned Wednesday night. It was a quick and very busy trip. We had lots to celebrate, and what better place to celebrate than at Disney World; the only thing that topped that was being there to witness their Christmas festivities. They were nothing short of spectacular. What were we celebrating, you ask? Well, we celebrated Sammy's birthday, our wedding anniversary, and my mom's birthday. My husband and I gifted my parents the trip to Disney for their own wedding anniversary back in July. We've been saving for months and just couldn't wait!

It was well worth the wait! See, we've visited Disney World before, but my parents hadn't been there. Their excitement and amazement led to many happy tears. This time together was very much needed, and now we have so many great memories.

To announce the winner of the My Memories Suite software, I thought I'd show you another layout I made when I created the others I showed you in the original post. Of course, in honor of a previous trip to Disney World; I have yet to upload all the pictures from my camera. I can't wait to create layouts for this trip. I am thinking a photo book created with the My Memories software is going to be our Christmas gift to my parents this year!

For this layout, I used one of My Memories' photo layouts; just added the photos, a few papers as backgrounds, and embellishments... and just like that, I was done!

Anyway... super fun! This digital scrapbooking software is so great! My Memories offers freebies all the time, discount coupons, and a fun Speed Scrap challenge on Sunday nights; I hope to start participating on those soon.

A Familiar Face Joins Claudia and Company

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday! I am so glad you are here!

I am thrilled to bring you some exciting news!

This has been quite the year for me. As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been cutting back on extras that take time away from what is most precious to me... my family. I see that all this has been preparation for other things that God has planned for me; as the days and weeks go by, I see that more and more. While I've known in my heart that I want to spend more time with my kiddies, I now know that God has been paving the way for me. My sweet Sammy, who just turned 3, will need special kind of attention. We don't yet know to what extent; we will know more on December 5th, when he has an appointment with a neurologist.

I've been praying for our future as a family and the future of my business. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, God revealed something completely different; something I am very happy with.

With that being said... allow me to introduce to you Claudia and Company's new store administrator:

Margie Cortina

I've known Margie since the very beginning days of my little store; she has been a design team member, and a wonderful friend. I even love that we share the joys of raising boys! I am over the moon excited to be able to work with Margie again!

Margie will be assisting me in a lot of administrative aspects of the store: on the blog, on Facebook, with the newsletter, and eventually she will learn the shopping cart side of the store as well; that alone is a huge undertaking, especially around CHA time... which is fast approaching! Eek! Margie's new role will free up a lot of time for me to be with my family; I am so grateful for that.

My New Love... and a Giveaway!

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! I am so excited to share with you a little something that has captured my heart over the last few weeks.

Now I am a card making kind of gal, but I have always loved visiting different scrappy blogs, and secretly wishing I could "do that" with a 12x12 piece of paper. I even have magazine clippings of scrapbook pages that I hope to create one day. Scrapbooking scares me a little... well a lot! I spend hours on one layout.

Well... Liz from My Memories Suite made my day when she contacted me last month and invited me to try out this super amazing digital scrapbooking software!

I was a little scared of that too. I LOVE all things techie, but I was concerned that this would be a bit much to learn. I went through the tutorials available HERE and immediately downloaded the digital scrapbook software and got started. MY OH MY! This is so easy and fun! While My Memories Suite offers many pre-made layouts to get you started, I opted to create all the layouts you see below from scratch. I just had to try all the different features. I literally created the basic layouts in minutes. You know all those magazines I have been saving... well I went to those for inspiration!

Oh, and while I haven't had a chance to try it yet, you can also create calendars with your scrapbook pages! I am thinking Christmas presents.

A little side note:

I couldn't wait for this blog post to go up so that I could share this last layout with you! Today is my 10th wedding anniversary! 10 amazing years full of love and blessings!

We're Back... With a Little Inspiration

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a wonderful summer. I don't know about you, but my family and I had quite the summer: trips to the zoo, birthdays (lots of them), pool time, an extreme makeover of our house (all done in 10 days, with the help of two 20 yard dumpsters), a road trip to Texas, and a little bit of everything in between. Now we are getting ready for school to start on September 6th. Phew!

This canvas was inspired by the super talented Jennifer McGuire; she blogged about a class she was going to teach in Dayton, OH last month. And, let me tell you, if I had known about this class sooner, I would have definitely driven four hours to take this class. I knew I wanted to make one, so I studied the sneak peek photo she posted HERE, and made one of my own. Mine is a little simpler of course, but what can I say... I missed the class. I still love how it turned out, and Mrs. D loved it just as much. I actually had a hard time parting with it; I hope to make one of my own soon.

See this picture below? This is the reason why I took the time to make these gifts for an absolutely beautiful lady; those of you that know me, know that I have very few spare minutes in my day, so this was quite the challenge. Heart of a Card is a mix n' match sentiment set that was created to be just that: the heart of a card. All, but a few [beginning] words are larger than the usual sentiment; they were designed this way so that you can use them on a card with an image or by themselves. Little Miss Mia has two sentiments of her own.

Hello everyone. I have a special treat for you today, well actually, all week. Today is day one of the "Thank You to Our Teachers Blog Hop". My good friend Kimmarie invited me to join the hop and I couldn't be more delighted. The theme is just perfect because I knew I'd be making some end of the year gifts for my kindergartener's teacher.
The hop consists of three separate posts: June 5th, June 8th, and June 11th; we will all be showcasing a different project on each of these days. Some blogs will be offering candy, so keep an eye out for that.
Today, I am showcasing the card I made for Mrs. D, well Mrs. D'Angelo, but the kiddies call her Mrs. D. Today, I am delighted to introduce you to our May guest designer:

Jamie Cripps

Jamie and I started emailing a few months back and I couldn't be more excited when she accepted to guest design for Claudia and Company. Her creations are just beautiful.

Jaime worked with Bella Blvd.'s new Sophisticates collection: a 6x6 sampler pack and Sophisticates three coordinating embellishment papers.

For her first project, Jamie created these little bags to hold stamps and ink pads; she created them for her kids' intern teachers. Aren't they adorable?

Claudia and Company Challenge: CAS Card

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be able to play along with this week's challenge; lately, I have been making lots of CAS cards, so I couldn't wait to get a few minutes to make one. I just had to create a card using October Afternoon's 5 and Dime papers; the colors are so beautiful. I punched out the butterflies using my favorite Flutter By Fiskars punch. Then I just adhered them with 3D Dots to give the card a little dimension; I think you just have to when you are using butterflies.

I used October Afternoon's new Playtime Sticky Keys to create part of the sentiment within the butterflies; I just love how this worked out. The stamped sentiment is from our own So Random Sentiment Set.

Another first for me... making a card this size. It will fit perfectly in a No. 10 envelope.

Do you like Butterflies? Have you noticed how popular they are these days? I recently purchased a butterfly punch by Fiskars and just can't get enough of it.

A Little Card Making Time with Its the Little Things

Hello everyone. Happy Wednesday. Hope your week is going well. I am still busy, busy here at Claudia and Company. The new products just keep coming. I just found out that Webster's Pages will be arriving this week, and October Afternoon's 5 and Dime is shipping to us this week. They'll be available on the store website in the next day or so. Yippee!

In between all the busy-ness, I had a little card making time, and I couldn't wait to share this card with you. I just love the colors. I used papers from the new Fancy Pants collection Its the Little Things; I love those little postmark images. The layout was inspired by a card I saw on the Thinking Inking blog. I used the new Stampavie image Antoinette and Bessa Go For a Stroll by Sarah Kay; she looks like she's a traveler, doesn't she? I love this new line; the gals are so stylish and sophisticated. I stamped her on that new XPress Blending Card by Copics. I added a little coral satin ribbon, and finished it off with a button from the Its the Little Things collection and tied it together with a little Charcoal Bakers Twine. The sentiment is Claudia and Company's So Random Sentiments Set Up/Down Edition; I didn't have much room left for one, so the vertical sentiment worked perfectly.
